Ingredients
2 baby back ribs, raw
1 16 Oz jar Tar Heels® BBQ Sauce*
1 2.3 Oz jar Cackalacky® Pepper Powder
½ cup dark brown sugar
About 10 heaping Tbsp Country Crock Spread
Heavy Duty Aluminum foil
Directions
Remove the membrane from the back of the rib slabs. Generously apply Cackalacky® Pepper Powder onto the front and back sides of the ribs. Build a charcoal fire using an “indirect” cooking method, place ribs meat-side up on the grill grate and cook over indirect heat for 2 hours 15 minutes. (Ideal ambient cooking temp is 250°F) Remove the ribs from the grill and place each slab meat-side down on top of five heaping tablespoons Country Crock® Original Spread and about ¼ cup evenly distributed brown sugar on its own doubled aluminum foil square. Then, tightly wrap and seal each slab with aluminum foil. (Kind of like a foil “canoe”) Place the wrapped ribs back on grill for 1 hour at 250°F. Remove the ribs from the foil and place back on the grill - meat side up. Generously brush on Tar Heels® BBQ Sauce on both sides of the ribs, grill for last 15 minutes, or until sauce caramelizes.
*Our Cackalacky Bold Gold® , Cackalacky® Cheerwine® Sweet Sauce, and Cackalalcky Secret Sauce® are also fantastic as finishing sauces for ribs!
